Artists just love to create from the heart. From the moment their pen hits the paper, their brush connects with the pallet, or their fingers plucking their first chord. Once they have created those characters, that beat, or the right mixture of colors; they're of to the races creating all the riveting parts to either their story, painting, or song. Once completed they are just overwhelmed with joy along with excitement to show it off to friends, family, producers, just about downright anyone.
But once they finally put the final touches on everything an entirely new world opens up for them which is, recreation. They can teach their songs to others, possibly a band, go on tour, get popular and even make a music video to capture and explain their story behind the lyrics as well as expressing their emotions. As well as painters, writers, and other artists may get offered movie contracts. A few quick examples could be how the popular show The Walking Dead started out just as a comic book. Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and The Hunger Games were all book series. The Beatles, Kurt Kobain, and The Grateful Dead all came out with films that expressed their music in different ways. That moment they all decided to create something they wanted to express through either art, music, or writing opened many opportunities and nowadays converting any form of art into film puts the crown jewels onto their creation.
Myself being a film editor, have seen some priceless reactions once I have finished say a music video. Piecing all that footage of the solo artist, or even band, in such a way that expresses the feelings that they are trying to purvey is both nerve-racking and exciting as well as rewarding. It is almost as if the song becomes mine for a short period of time; playing it over and over until it is just right. While doing so I've given myself chills and have even jumped out of my seat with what I was creating in probably what seemed like just as much happiness the artist had while originally creating the song. Then once everything's finalized and I scheduled the artist to come see what has been done with their song they are just over joyed, one even tearing up in their eyes with happiness. Some clients unfortunately I do not get to see their reactions but I know all is well with my work at this point and every project is rewarding knowing that I can help others capture and piece together what they want to see.
